Drag and drop instant feedback
May 23, 2019
Hello -
I have created a free form drag and drop activity and have managed to:
Make the box turn green when correctly dragged / turn red when incorrect
I would like to know how to -
Have an instant pop up message each time the box turns green to say 'Well done! Correct.' or tell them to 'try again' if the box turns red for incorrect.
Have the box exit the slide once correct / have the incorrect option bounce back to its original spot in order for the player to try again.
Thank you
Abbie

Add a drop correct and incorrect state. On the form under drag and drop options uncheck the delay state changes at the bottom and at the top allow drop object only on correct.
Add triggers to show you lat=yers when the state of the object is drop correct or incorrect.
Hi Phil,
Thanks for your reply. I have managed to add triggers so that there is a pop up message when item is dragged to correct or incorrect target. On drag and drop options I have selected 'return item to start point if dropped outside - a correct drop target', but the item simply remains red in incorrect drop target - when I would like it to return to its original position on the slide.
Hey Abbie!
Would you mind sharing a copy of this slide with us? That way we can take a look under the hood!
Since this is a public discussion, you can import the slide into a new file. Then, remove any proprietary information and share the file in a new reply here.
Hi Abigail,
I am not a programmer and only discovering Articulate Storyline since yesterday.
I have set a Free form slide with a drag and drop game and I would like to have the boxes turn green when right answer and red when wrong, as you did.
May I ask you the details of how you did program that?
Many thanks!
Silva.
Hi Silva,
I'm not sure if Abigail is still subscribed here, as the post is a bit older - but you could always use the "contact me" button on a ELH users' profile to reach out to them directly!
Also, if you're able to share a copy of your .story file with folks here in the community that's a good way to get help on this setup!
Add a drop correct/incorrect state. In the form open the options and uncheck delay states.
