Drag and drops not working on kindle

Feb 04, 2014

Hi there,

We're having a bit of a problem with our content displaying correctly on a kindle fire tablet (aurora browser). As the browser uses a drag motion to pan within the entire browser window, its not picking up any dragging of the content, which means the user cannot progress. We think the browser is loading the flash version of the course and not the HTML5 output, as the menu is restricted on the device, and it never is in HTML5.

We have tried using different browsers on the device (chrome and dolphin) and the drag and drops work correctly (although the content does not display perfectly - half our player is off the screen), but in these browsers, once you have completed the course and moved onto our LMS's checklist and selftest, it does not allow the user to progress onwards, and refreshing the page simply causes the test to refresh to the 1st question.

Our courses work completely fine both in flash on the PC and in HTML5 on an iPad.

Do you have any suggestions at all?

Hi Kerry,

As Dennis mentioned the Kindle or the Aurora browser are not supported by Articulate. You'll see a list of our supported browsers and iPad specific browsers here.   If you're course is behaving as expected on your desktop, iPad using the HTML5 content in mobile safari or the mobile player, there will not be much that we'll be able to assist with in a support case.

Having said that, however, there may be some community members that have been able to work with the Kindle successfully who could share their expertise here. I found a few other threads where the Kindle was mentioned, and you may also want to reach out to those users directly.

You're also welcome and encourage to share your thoughts on support for Kindle devices by submitting a feature request to our product development team.
