Are you using a single video screen recording? If so, there's currently no built-in feature that allows you to edit out middle parts of a screen recording, only to trim the ends.
However, you could make a copy of your video on a new slide, trim each accordingly, and then combine them on the timeline to achieve a similar effect.
Enhanced video editing would make a nice feature request. I'd recommend sending one over to our development team.
If you're using a step-by-step recording you could use the Action Fine Tuning feature to edit your recordings:
