Can someone tell me if it is possible to snip out a bit of video from the centre of a video simulation? If it is possible, how do I do it? When I try, it seems I can only trip the beginning and the end of the video.
Hiya, Pip. You're exactly right. The video editor allows for trimming, but you can't cut out a section of the video in Storyline.
Good news, though! It looks like you're using Articulate 360, which includes Replay. You can bring your video file into Replay and make those cuts there. I hope that helps!
I had seen another option where you copy your original video, rename the videos (video1 and video2), line them up, trim video1 from the start of the clip you don't want, trim video2 from the beginning to the end of the part you don't want, then make sure they line up for a smooth transition. Unfortunately, when I tried it in SL3, it would not allow me to copy. Is there another alternative?
I tried copying the video, but the copy option is greyed out. In the end, I published the one slide with the video and then edited the video in a video editor program. I then replaced the old video with the new one.

You should be able to copy the video and re-paste it in your slide in Storyline 3. Have you tried to re-import it as well to see if that works?
