eLearning cannot be published since insertion of question bank

Jun 22, 2023

Hello all,

unfortunately I have a problem with an eLearning and I can't find a solution to it.

I have built an eLearning. It was already completely finished with final test. Everything worked fine.
Then, instead of the standard test, I inserted a Question Bank so that the questions shuffle when I try again. In addition, I inserted a Quiz Review.
Since then I can't publish the eLearning anymore.

Unfortunately, I can't say at all what the problem is.
The file is not too big; it is saved locally.
I hope you can help me.

Best regards

Steffi

You might try saving it as a different project and deleting the question bank, then see if the problem continues. If there's no problem, then we confirm that the q bank and the results slide are the likely problem.

Without seeing the story file, and the settings you used when you published, it's difficult to say. But I would start with reviewing the site here for how to work with the results slide, and how to configure your publishing settings.

From experience, I can tell you that copying and reusing a results slide will definitely cause problems (the results slide is prepopulated with unique variables) and if you happened to copy that results slide from a different story, you will need to rebuild it from scratch.

And if you're not able to find anything helpful here in the forums or support articles, reach out to Articulate. They have helped me troubleshoot results slides several times.

Good luck!

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your feedback. Your tip helped me a lot: First I removed the question bank. But that did not bring anything. Then I removed the result slide and lo and behold: the publication worked again.
Then I created a completely new result slide again. Now everything works.

Basically a good tip for seemingly faulty files: To test the individual slides by removing them step by step.

Best regards

Hi Steffi,

I'm glad Joe was able to help you out here! I just wanted to share also that the Results slide may have been corrupted, which caused the publishing issue. Here's a great article with tips on how to reduce the incidence of file corruption:
