embedding video from non vimeo/youtube/etc issues

May 04, 2017

Hi all,

I am totally unable to get the following to work as an embedded video through either the use of the web object or the insert video from web options. This is the code:

<div style="font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:18px;line-height:1.2;"><a draggable="false" target="_blank" href="https://hstalks.com/bm/3167/?start=981&amp;end=1031" style="display:block;float:left;margin-right:10px;"><img align="left" hspace="10" draggable="false" src="https://hstalks.com/upload/thumbs/talk/resized/3167.200x150.jpg" width="200" height="150" alt=""></a><a draggable="false" target="_blank" href="https://hstalks.com/bm/3167/?start=981&amp;end=1031" style="color:#007ba1;text-decoration:none;"><span>The experience of consultants</span><br></a><small style="font-size:12px;color:#555;"><span>Dr. Michael Gill</span><span> – </span><span>School of Management University of Bath, UK</span><br></small></div>

It continues to tell me a new window is required to open this, but the proprietors of this video database are telling me that the embed code is legit and does work, though I have had no luck. Any help?

Thanks.

I copied the code as provided you into my text editor and saved as index.html on the desktop. Drop this index.html onto your web browser (like Chrome) and a small clickable thumbnail appears so the code is correct. Clicking the thumbnail opens a new window (as directed by the target="_blank" attribute.

A Web Object could be used, but the HTML code provided would need to be hosted on a web server. Amazon's offers web hosting as part of their AWS S3 offering.

I've saved out a version you can use for a few days with a web object
