End at playhead?

Mar 20, 2014

I'm looking for another tool and can't find anything like it.  There's a handy way to align the beginning of an element to the playhead but is there any way to cut an element at the playhead as well.  Everything I import runs to the end of my project but I would love to be able to set my playhead at an endpoint, click the drop down and have the picture or whatever be cut at the playhead position.  It would save a lot of running to the end of the project and sliding the element all the way to the beginning.

Is there anything like this?

I suppose this would be nearly as good as Camtasia's handy "S" key, where one may set the playhead, make a slice cut across one or more timeline layers, then delete the rest of the object's duration. In Storyline 3, that behavior would obviously create a brand new timeline layer/stream say just above the object that has been sliced. Maybe now that they have a workflow to go by, Andy. :)

Hi all!

I am jumping into this discussion to share that we just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.63.27628.0) which includes changes to the timeline.

New: Create slides faster with time-saving upgrades to the timeline. Multi-select objects and move them all at once. Choose where pasted objects appear in the stacking order or even paste them into an existing group. Align objects to the playhead or vice versa. And when the timeline is too long, you can instantly reset it to five seconds or shorten it to the object with the longest duration.

Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!
