Error when adding conditions in trigger

May 18, 2020

Hi,

Seeking your help as everytime I try to add conditions (Object) in the trigger that I set for my button - it always report an error:

I already updated the software to its latest version and I did restart my PC. The error keeps on happening. I also attached the Error code if that'll help.

Thank you!

Hi Rain,

I'm sorry to hear you're running into this error, and I appreciate you taking some troubleshooting steps to address the issue!

From here, I've opened a case on your behalf with our support engineers to take a closer look at your file and see if we can nail down the issue. Feel free to upload your .story file to the link below.

I am having the exact same issue. I suspected it was either a file issue or a version issue. To see if the file was corrupt, I created a new file, but the bug persisted. This experiment ruled out the theory that the file was corrupt. (Furthermore, two of my colleagues were able to open the file and it worked for them.) I recently upgraded Storyline, and so i thought the problem was with my version of Storyline version, and so I uninstalled Storyline and installed the Storyline version that my colleague was running, but the bug persisted.   I should add that I did file a ticket and the Articulate Support staff couldn't replicate my problem.

Hi Maria,

Thank you for letting us know! That is odd and Storyline shouldn't be doing that.

May I ask if you are working on a network drive? The reason I ask is that when working on a network drive, this can cause erratic behavior to occur. It is best to work from your local hard drive when creating courses.

I also want to mention that I will provide these updated notes on your Support Case. Since the reinstallation of Storyline didn't help, I want to be sure that we continue to pinpoint what the cause of this issue is.

Please keep us updated and let us know if you have any questions!
