Your timeline needs to be longer or your animations shorter. Motion paths are not controlled by the timeline, but entrance and and exit animations are. . . therefore a 2 second exit animation needs to have 2 seconds allocated for it in the timeline. In your file, the motion is taking 5 seconds, which is the same length of the slide timeline. So the 2 second exit animation has to begin half way though the motion to finish at the end of the timeline.
I created a group with 2 objects and then set the in/out fade animations on the individual objects. Then I applied the motion path to the group level. Worked like a charm.
I still feel like this might be a bug with the original way I did it, however.
Glad you found a solution. One of the ways of checking your animations is in the timeline with the new visualization feature. If they are overlapping, you may need to extend the time further.

Hopefully that makes some sense.
Hi Ron,
Thanks for the reply. On my object, I have 2-second enter/exit animations, and an overall 5 second motion path.
I changed the fades to 1 second, and also extended the slide timeline to 6 seconds (leaving the motion path at 5 seconds) and I still get the glitch.

Ok, so I was able to find a workaround.. or at least a "method" for doing this, based on feedback from a similar post: entrance and exit animations and motion paths - Articulate Storyline Discussions - E-Learning Heroes

Thanks, again, Ron. In your screen cap, the object still finishes its path before the exit fade starts. I was trying to fade during the motion.
I updated the 360 Review link above with an example of the difference between grouping and not grouping the objects.
I see what you are trying now. I was not clear on your specific outcomes - grouping is a great option
