Exit Animations Do Not Work On States

Good morning everyone. I am having a strange issue with adding an exit animation to just one of my three states and I do not understand what I am doing wrong.
My second state, I can add entrance and exit animations, and they work fine. For my third state, the entrance animation works, but not the exit animation. Based on previous posts, I have done the copy/cut and paste and then added the exit animation but this does not work. I even tried to duplicate the second state but only the entrance animation works and the exit animation does not.
What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

Great question! Since animations are based on the timeline, objects that have exit animations will disappear when the timeline completes. To have more control over the animation, I'd recommend adding a motion path for the exit animation. I've created a quick 3-minute tutorial to explain my recommendation.

The tutorial that Lauren recorded appears to have already been deleted. We'll be glad to make another one for you, but first, we'd like to test your project file to see how the exit animations are behaving. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case for testing? We'll delete it when we're done and we'll also include a video showing how to fix the animations!
