Exporting Storyline File into CSV Format

Aug 15, 2022

I am hoping to export an activity I created in Storyline as a CSV file to import into my LMS (the LMS did not accept the Storyline export I made and will only accept CSV). Is there a way to do this?

Thank you!

Hi Alisia,

Thanks for reaching out!

A CSV file is just a text file in which the text inside the file is separated by commas. With that being said, can you confirm that your LMS only accepts CSV files? I'm not sure that you can host a fully working HTML course using just CSV files, but if you have documentation from your LMS that explains how this can be done, would you mind sharing it with me so I can better assist you?

For your reference, most LMS accept .zip files for uploading content. You can check out the procedure on how to prepare Storyline 360 courses for LMS distribution here:

Looking forward to your response!

Thank you for your help, Joe! I've attached a screenshot of the error I receive when I upload my Storyline file, and I've also attached a CSV template that appears when I receive the error. My activity in Storyline is a built-in survey template from Storyline - a "likert scale," I believe.

I appreciate your help!

Hi Alisia,

If you could share your published project file here or in private by opening a case, we'll be glad to verify if it is a valid SCORM package or not. If your published file works in our LMS, you may need to reach out to your IT staff to verify if you are uploading your LMS content in the correct place, as what Phil mentioned.
