I wanted to have an extra layer on a results slide ((ie in addition to the pass and fail layers) that would display if a particular variable were true.
However, I'm having no luck making it work and am wondering if it's actually possible?
The results slide doesn't seem to recognise that the necessary variable has changed, although it definitely has.
Hi, Katherine -- Thanks for reaching out, and I see that you have some ideas you can try! But, if you had something else in mind, it might be most helpful if you were able to share your .story file if you already have one created. Simply use the ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box and upload from there! :)
Thanks Wendy - that's pretty much what I did (albeit with many other variables in use as well) but the results slide wasn't picking up the change in the true/false variable so the variable-driven layer wasn't appearing.
One of the Articulate helpdesk folks suggested changing the true/false to a number variable, which has now worked (although now one of the other variables isn't working...). I've no idea why this works when the true/false one didn't or why the other variable now doesn't work, but hopefully the Articulate guy will fill me in.
it's always hard to assume what else is in the file so I took a stab, and yes either a number or T/F variable should work - it's not your trigger order that is giving you grief with the other variable not working - can you reference it and see it changing?
Thanks Leslie - the support team haven't been able to sort it either. Currently we're looking at abandoning the course, which is weeks of mine and my colleagues' time wasted. Not impressed.
Thanks for your help. It's frustrating to see so much hard work go to waste. It seems as if every time I try to fix the problem something else goes wrong. Having recreated the whole quiz I'm now finding the layers in the results slide don't display as expected.

Check your Slide Layer Properties - possibly the Hide other slide layers option is checked?
Hi Katherine
here is a sample of what I think you mean

Would you be be able to share your case number with me so that I could take a look? I'm not able to locate it.
Hi Leslie
It's 00793422

Hi Katherine!
It appears that Wilbert is continuing to assist you.
Did you try the solution shared with you on 5/27?
I will add a note to your case that you are reaching out in the forums as well.
Hi Leslie
The results layers still aren't showing correctly.
Hi Katherine
can you upload the story file here or is it confidential?
I see that you did pop back in your case to share that as well and Wilbert is assisting you. Thanks!
