Feedback Master layers are not translated

Sep 04, 2019

I translate Storyline projects based on a personalized template that my team made (Sorry I can't share it here), using Storyline's automated translation process.

I noticed that any text objects from question feedback layers that haven't been modified in the slide (AKA have text that has been placed in the Feedback Master slide layout) are either not included in the .doc or .xlf translation import files, or the translated objects are not uploaded to the .story files.

Can anyone else reproduce this and is there a fix?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Zeca,

I'm sorry you're running into some translation issues when working with a master slide. A few questions to dig a little deeper:

  • What version of Storyline are you using?
  • Do you see this issue in the feedback main slide master or on the feedback master slide layouts?

Try to insert text on layers in both of these masters and let me know which one doesn't work — looking forward to hearing back!

Hi Ren,

Sorry for the delay here. Answering your questions:

  • What version of Storyline are you using?
    Storyline 3.
  • Do you see this issue in the feedback main slide master or on the feedback master slide layouts?
I see it in the Feedback Master Slide Layout.

I also modified my original post for clarity.

Thank you for looking into this. :)

Hi Zeca,

Thanks for providing those additional details and clarifying your post. I'm sorry that you ran into translation issues where the text from master slide layers aren't being included. We have reported it to our team, and continue to keep an eye on it to evaluate how many customers are impacted and what impact it has on courses.

Here's some more detail about how we tackle bugs. I'm really sorry that I can't say if this issue will be fixed, but you're in the right place to stay updated on this bug's progress.
