Feedback on Result slide based on range of scores

Jul 05, 2015

I am new to storyline. I am trying to provide feedback on a quiz based on a range of scores. There are 30 questions all multiple choice and 3 choices for each answer (Agree, Somewhat Agree, Disagree) worth 2, 1 and 0 points respectively.

If a student scored for example 0-10 they would receive feedback that differs from a student that scores 11-25 and so on. Is there an easy way to do this? Is it possible to do this using the result slide? Do I need to define variables on each slide, sum them up and then create feedback based on ranges?

Any help you can provide this "newbie" would be appreciated.

Thanks Alane

You could use the results slide you created for those questions and either add a) a text box with states or b) textbox(es) in layers and fire up the appropriate object on condition that ResultsPassPoints < 10.1, ResultsPassPoints between 10.9 & 25.1, and ResultsPassPoints > 25.9 respectively.

Hope this helps,
Alex

Hi Alane,

The condition will be a part of a trigger - so you could have it set to do something like the following:

Change the state of the Textbox to Normal (original state hidden) when the layer timelines tarts, on the condition that Variable ABC is equal to X.

Here is additional information about using triggers that will walk you through conditions as well.

Hi. I'm trying to do something similar where i've created a drag and drop exercise with 12 options. I have put a 60 second timer on that slide and used a video over a second layer to show a countdown. The only issue i have is i need to give feedback based on the number of interactions they got correct. For example, i want to build a feedback template for 0-4, 5-8, 9-11 and finally 12 out of 12 (not percentages). Has anyone done this before please that can help?

Hi Leslie. Thank you for responding. Unfortunately it's not the same as the above. I've attached some screen grabs of what i'm trying to achieve. It's a freeform drag and drop exercise and i have added in the 3 drop targets and matched up the 12 drag items as they should be. That works fine if it's a simple all are correct. I want to try and achieve the next step up and have the learner view how many out of 12 they got right or wrong and an option to retake the quiz. (i've limited it to 2 attempts).  Any help/advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
