Fine tuning a video on one slide

Mar 29, 2022

I am trying to edit out a portion of a video recording played on a single slide. I do not see a fine action tuning option and am trying to avoid exporting to another application (SnagIt) to do this editing. I tried trim and that just cut out the beginning and end of the video, leaving only the portion I want to shorten and crop just resizes the viewing window. Can someone tell me if there is a way to edit out a portion of a video in Storyline360?

Hi Nicole,

For your reference, the action fine-tuning editor is only available for screencasts that you've inserted as step-by-step slides.

I understand that having more options in editing video files in Storyline could come in handy for content developers, so I encourage you to share your thoughts with our product development team here.

As an alternative, you can try to make a copy of the video and trim one from the end to the desired point and another from the beginning to the desired point - essentially separating it into two clips.

Then, you could put the videos back on the timeline and just ensure there is a bit of overlap in their appearance/disappearance and the video elements to make it more seamless.

Let me know if you need anything else!
