Fit Video to Slides

Oct 26, 2022

Hello,

I am trying to make screen recordings fit to the full size of the slide. Currently, there is an awkward white bar above and below the video.

I did see some documentation on changing the browser size or the adjusting the slides based on powerpoint. But neither of those really fit what I was looking for.

Any tips on how to adjust slides in a project for only those containing screen captures?

Hello Lorin,

Thanks for reaching out!

You mentioned adjusting the slides based on PowerPoint - can you clarify if you meant matching the size of your screen recordings to the size of your Storyline 360 project slides? If not, please try matching these two sizes to see if this helps with the appearance of your recordings in your slides.

Hi, Joe.

Yes, I would like to match the size of my screen recordings to the size of my Storyline 360 project slides. Based on the links you sent, it looks like I have to record them already fit to scale, right? I can't change the size of the recording/slide post-screen record?

So any screen recordings that I currently have, I will need to re-record in the same dimension as the Storyline slides?

Hi Lorin,

If the aspect ratio of your screen recording doesn't match the aspect ratio of your project slide, then there will always be the presence of the white bars you are seeing in the published output of your course. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to resize the screen recording to a different aspect ratio, so the only thing that can be changed is your project's slide size. If you need help with changing your course's slide size, you can share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look.
