Freeform Quiz results not properly reported in our LMS

Sep 23, 2020

Hi there,

I recently made a 10 question quiz comprising 9 multiple choice questions and 1 multiple response question (question 3 in my quiz).

When completing the quiz and obtaining the results report from our LMS (Moodle) it lists the score for Q3 first (as 'response 0') and shifts the other answers. Would anybody be able to tell me if I have set something up wrong in the Storyline file, or if this is some kind of reporting error/bug?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for responding, so your answers are ordered differently to mine (attached)?

Retaking the course for me generates the same order when I view the report for all attempts. I've not made changes to the published file since submitting this support request.

However when our students took this course, some of them had their answers listed in correct order whilst others looked like mine.

It isn't listing them alphabetically is it? i.e FreeFormPickMany always before FreeFormPickOne?

Do you have any suggestions here?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for following up and sharing those details. Is there any way you can export the interaction information into an Excel file that you can then sort?

Since I was able to replicate the same order as Lauren, I've opened a case on your behalf to connect you with a support engineer that can shed some light on expected behavior.

Be on the lookout for a reply soon!

Hi Ren,

Here's the interactions data export, just worthy of note that this is the data from the original quiz taken by users (question 8 wasn't set up properly leading to some missing answers). The storyline file I sent over was a copied project that had question 8 fixed.

Weirdest part of the report is for some users it has recorded the only multiple response question as 'Response 0' whilst for others it was recorded as 'Response 2'. For one user in the report (Samuil, row 28) it had recorded his multiple response answer as 'Response 0' and 'Response 1'. There was only 1 multiple response question in the quiz.

Hope this is helpful, looking forward to getting to the bottom of this...

Chris
