Do you mean during your screen recording? Is it that you cannot see the option (as in move the window up to see the full drop down) or it is not available at all?
Or do you mean when you embed videos from websites, such as YouTube and Vimeo? You may find the fullscreen button for these videos is either missing or doesn't work in your published output. We fixed this issue in Storyline 2 Update 10. See this article for details.
Hi Orla- Just wanted to add that the largest screen recording area that's supported is 2046 pixels by 2046 pixels so if you're trying to record a larger area, that could be contributing as well.
thanks for the replies. I cant see the full screen iption when I am recording my screen. I see the other options and can select a window but I cant see the Full screen option. I was able to see it last week. I thought maybe it was something to do with the format of my project but I tried everything.
I am also having this issue. When I'm in Articulate and I choose 'Record screen' I used to be able to scale my screen capture size to whatever ratio I wanted but now, I am only able to choose from the following options: select a window, 4:3, & 16:9. The 'Full Screen' option is gone.
In addition, if I do choose the 'select a window' option and try to record my screen, I'm getting the error message, "Screen capture cannot record an area with a width or height larger than 2000". I'm so confused because I was able to do this fine last week!
I'm currently running Storyline 2 version 11: 1609.3020.
I'm not sure what's going on. I've never encountered a problem like this before. Everything working fine before I installed this latest update. Is there a way for me to uninstall it?
And yes, I have tried starting a new project. I've closed Articulate and even restarted my computer a couple times, but it's still occurring.
Also, When I attempt to do a screencast, Articulate is recording outside of the screen recording area that I've defined. I have no idea what's going on!
Hi Wendy. Yes, I am. I'm attempting to record on my second monitor which I've always been able to do in the past but now it's not allowing me to select a screen recording area that's wider than 2047 pixels. If I attempt to record my screen using a width of 2047 pixels though, Articulate gives me an error message, "Screen capture cannot record an area with a width or height larger than 2000'.
I think the maximum screen recording size is 2047 x 2047 - have you tried moving the application you are trying to record to main monitor and see if that works.
So the weird thing is, I'm with a coworker whose second monitor is almost the same size as mine. When she goes to set her screen recording area, she's able to select 'Full Screen' and set her recording area. The ratio ends up being 1888 x 976. For me, I do not have a 'Full Screen' option at all and if I set a screen recording area of 1888 x 976 it only takes up a very small portion of my monitor. Something is definitely wrong!
In addition, if I do attempt to grab the screen recording, it comes into Articulate looking very messed up.
Hi again Maye - Thanks for the additional details.
Storyline 2 requires Microsoft Windows to use 96 DPI (dots per inch). If Windows is using a different DPI setting, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:
* Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted. * Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published. * Zoomed images don't work as expected. * Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Hi Orla!
So the issue is only happening in a single project and the recording window is not larger than 2046x2046 as Ali shared above?
If just one project, I'd advise importing into a new file to see if this alleviates the issue.

Hello Maye and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
What version of Storyline are you utilizing? I just took a look at Storyline 360 and I have a Full Screen option when utilizing Record Screen.
Does this happen if you open a brand new file as well? Are you utilizing 96 DPI?
Hi Leslie-

Hello Maye - Update 12 is the latest version of Storyline 2. You can check that out here.
Did you check your DPI settings?
Also, When I attempt to do a screencast, Articulate is recording outside of the screen recording area that I've defined. I have no idea what's going on!
Hi Maye
are you using dual monitors?
Hi Wendy.
Thanks, Leslie. I just installed this update but unfortunately, it's still not working :/
