Help Needed On a slide with layers that should have interaction

Mar 04, 2014

Hello,

I am creating a course in Articulate storyline and I am trying to do something I am not sure I know how to.

I do have the idea but I need to know what to do.

I have a slide with 6 Main slide layers.

The first layer has a lady talking (I have removed the audio) but once the timeline ends then it triggers the next slide layer to appear.

The 5 slide layers that follow should be interactive layers that have questions and they need to be answered in order for the next button to appear (A little confused on how to make that happen) (Make the next button diabled initially and then show once the question is answered.

I do not want the Correct or Incorrect layers to show until the scenario is done and they hit submit or if the layers show how do I make them bring me back to the base layer so that the user can click the now activated Next Button.

I hope my explanations are okay.

I think I need to create some form of variables but I am not well conversant with variables therefore I need help.

Please check the .story file named scenario help.story that I have attached in preview to see what I am talking about.

Kind Regards.

David

Hi David and welcome to Heroes!

You can disable the next button using the method described here, but I'm more curious about why you've set this up as layers for each question as the variable method will involve a bit more work of adjusting it for each visit to the correct/incorrect layer whereas if you used the built in question types on individual slides, you could set the "continue" button to jump to the next slide once the user clicks it so that they wouldn't be able to get to the next question until they answered the current one.
