You'd have to use that export option before inserting the video as a screen recording. If you're still not seeing the same options, can you share a screenshot of what you do see?
I suspect Tessa is talking about exporting a video that exists in a Storyline 3 .story file because I have the same issue with a SCORM package I am updating and need to make updates to the video as well, but I am not sure where the creator of the video stored the original video file.
When I right-click the video on the timeline I get these options:
And if I right-click the video itself in the window:
How would I save the video file itself separately (i.e., export it)?
Articulate Storyline doesn't currently support exporting videos that were previously imported. However, if you no longer have the source video files and need to recover copies of them, do the following:
On the Publish Successful dialog, click the Open Folder button.
Then open the story_content folder. This is where you can find copies of your videos for this particular project. The file name for each video will start with video_. However, they will not have easily recognizable file names, so you may have to play each video to identify them.
If you would like to see a video export feature added to Storyline, please submit a feature request directly to our product development team. Thanks!
I discovered a work around for this today. You can copy the video and paste it into a powerpoint slide. From powerpoint you can right click on it and select "Save media as..."
Glad that workout helped you out, Joe! Also, keep in mind that publish to video is a Storyline 360 feature and you can follow the steps in this workaround.

HI in storyline 3 i do not see that as an option. there is drag and drop, preview, set poster frame, edit video, change video but no export.

Thank you Joe, this is exactly what I was looking for! I.ve been trying to export screen records I made and saved in articulate months ago.
