It looks like the layout list (that's usually on the left-hand side) got collapsed somehow. This is why you're unable to select the Master or the layouts.
You'll want to move your mouse all the way over to the left-hand side of the window until you see your cursor change to .
Then, click and drag that bar to the right.
It should look like this afterwords:
