How do I embed videos with script instead of iframe?
Jul 09, 2021
I'm trying to embed a tiktok video into storyline but the embed button gives me the following:
<blockquote class="tiktok-embed" cite="https://www.tiktok.com/@rynnstar/video/6874573962848898309" data-video-id="6874573962848898309" style="max-width: 605px;min-width: 325px;" > <section> <a target="_blank" title="@rynnstar" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@rynnstar">@rynnstar</a> <p>Impact over intent. Always.</p> <a target="_blank" title="♬ original sound - Rynn" href="https://www.tiktok.com/music/original-sound-6874574014279338758">♬ original sound - Rynn</a> </section> </blockquote> <script async src="https://www.tiktok.com/embed.js"></script>
Storyline doesn't like it and says it can't embed it. I've come across the same kind of embed codes recently and I'm wondering how to embed them into storyline. Has anyone had success?

Hello Marilyn, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you would like to add to your Storyline course.
Here are the instructions for embedding published content:
Storyline 360: How to Embed Published Content in a Web Page
As you can see in this documentation, this uses an iframe, but it looks like TikTok does not allow embedding using an iframe, so you'll need to use the video link instead.
You can then use this link and add it as a Web Object in your Storyline course that opens in a new browser:
Thank you for that, I actually need it to play the video in the slide though. Is there anyway to do that?
Hi, Marilyn.
Thank you for clarifying!
As Leslie mentioned, this is a limitation imposed by TikTok, so the only way to include those links is to display them in a new window.
Let me know if you have additional questions!
