How do I get work as a beginning Storyline creator?
Sep 22, 2014
Hi, everyone. Last week, I finished my first Storyline project. The final version is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/614124/meetingman/story.html (it will open in a new window)
As I said in a previous post in these forums: I created the project because I met someone (I will call him Joe in this post) who said he could find work for me as an instructional designer if I created a sample project in Storyline. I'd never heard of instructional design before talking to him.
Anyway, without getting into the details: I no longer think Joe is a reliable person nor is he serious about helping me find work.
Consequently, I'm wondering if people in this forum can give me some advice on how to find work on my own. I feel that my project shows that I know how to write, that I have a basic grasp of e-learning principles, that I'm comfortable using audio and graphics, and that I understand how to use Storyline.
But I'm wondering: is one sample project enough to start finding paying work? If it is, how should I go about finding that work? If not, then, for now, I will have to put aside any ideas of becoming an instructional designer and look for other types of employment.
Thanks!
D.
