Did you check to see that they were not set to be "preserved" stopping you from deleting them? Also, you mentioned that you don't have any slides in this project - were you adding a number of slide masters and layouts to start? I'd confirm that you're working on project files as described here, as working off a USB/network drive is known to cause odd behavior.
If you're still experiencing odd behavior and you're seeing it in all files, can you look at conducting the repair of Storyline?
Hey, in some apps like InDesign it can detect unused master pages, Is there plans for a similar feature in Storyline? I have imported a PP presentation which has since been updated. There are some slides I need to keep so I deleted the other material and re-imported the presentation. Now I have multiple master templates which is a bit of a nightmare I would like an easy way to remove the unused ones.
On a related note, I have also made some customization another StoryLine project (added custom buttons for the navigation). On the iPhone the default buttons bring up the iPhone Safari navigation buttons - really ugly! So I've created a Chrome-less player and removed the buttons placing in the footer area.
Is there a way to include just the masters from another project without importing the slides? This is a bit complicated I know so the simplest thing perhaps is to copy 'n paste the buttons. I am running two Storyline apps at once and copying the elements I need. Not sure if this is advised but it's working for me.
There is not a similar feature in Storyline, although it sounds like a good idea for a feature request which you can submit here.
There isn't a way to just bring in the masters, although you could look at just importing a file with one slide that includes all those masters - that should bring in everything you need.

I think I've solved the issue:
It seems that if a slide is open in Storyline, you cannot delete some unused layouts.
As soon as you close the opened slide, those layouts can be deleted, but not all...
Hope this helps.

Hello Andre,
Here is some additional information about slide masters and how to delete them.
Well, I don't have ANY slides in the file and I still can't delete the layout. No offense guys, but this program was expensive.

I had the above issue, but when I "un preserved" the master slide, I was able to delete the rogue layout slide, info above was helpful, thanks
Thanks Darrin and I'm glad this helped you out too.

Thanks Ashley, that's a real good idea.
Sometimes we just have to think 'outside the box' ;-)
No problem Alex - glad to help.
