How to edit a project without the orginial story file

A coworker of mine has now left the company.  Before she left she put project files on SharePoint, however, she did not put the .story file.  Can I import anything she left into Articulate 360 to make edits to the project?

This is what she left: (File attached)

  • Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but without the .story file you can't edit the project.

  • Hi Sarah,

I'm sorry you've hit this roadblock! Cary is correct that you must have access to the original .Story file to make edits and republish the course. If possible, you may want to search your previous coworker's computer to see if the .story files reside there somewhere. You can check the temp files:

    1. Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
    2. Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop
    3. Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story
    4. Double-click the file to open it in Storyline

    I hope this helps!
