I was trying to replicate the project shown in Tom Kuhlmann's webinar "Create a Simple Office Exploration Interaction in Storyline 360". I have followed all the steps to create the project. However, there is an issue. After, I have created the gate layer and tried to preview the project, I observe that the gate layer keeps on coming back every time, I finish clicking the objects. Is there any fix to this? I have attached the sample for your review
If you download the files from the webinar, you will notice Tom used a condition with the trigger that shows the gate layer:
Show layer Start when the timeline starts on this slide if StartOff value = True
You can also see StartOff in the Variables Manager:
On the gate layer, he added another trigger to turn StartOff to true:
Set StartOff to value True when the user clicks BTN Continue
What that does is, after the layer is shown the first time, the user clicks Continue, setting the variable to True. Then the next time the user goes back to the main slide, the layer will not show again since it doesn't match the trigger's condition.
Thanks for the solution. I have noted it down and trying to figure out myself. I am pretty new in Articulate. Will be grateful if more nuances on layers can be covered in the next tutorial. Alternatively, you can also point me to sections where I can learn more about layers
I also highly recommend participating in the E-Learning Challenges. It's a great motivation to improve your skills, get inspired, and interact with the community.
