How to reveal content at the right time tutorial

Oct 08, 2012

Jeannette in the "How to reaveal content at the right time" turtorial I noticed that the numbers up top changed with each correct choice that was moved over. Can you explain how that was done?

Hi Urica! Yes! You're referring to the tutorials on this page, right?

The counter is a number variable I created. I set its default value to 6 (since there are 6 ingredients the learner needs to find). And then, for each correct ingredient, I have a trigger that subtracts 1 from the count when the learner clicks, as long as the object's state is not yet visited. The trigger looks like this: http://cl.ly/image/170H2407170I (So there are a total of 6 of these triggers - one for each correct ingredient.)

If you need a little more detail about how to set up a number variable & triggers, I'd recommend checking out this similar example posted on the following discussion thread (and it includes a screencast tutorial with the how-tos): http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/18771/105029.aspx

Verified Answer just means that the original question in the discussion thread has been answered. It's fine to click "Mark as answer" when your question has been answered; that way the answer turns green and gets copied at the top of the thread, right after the question. It makes it easier for others to quickly find answers when browsing the forums, especially on long discussion threads. :)
