HTML 5 conversion?
Aug 25, 2016
Hi,
I am testing out the slider component in Storyline. Does anyone know if it only works as a Flash based object?
When I publish and select 'Include HTML5 output' the resulting course still says the Flash player is required.
I guess this leads to a bigger question... is everything created in Storyline get converting to HTML5 with that option selected?
I know Captivate has the HTML5 checker... is there any way to check HTML5 compliance in Storyline?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark!
Articulate Storyline lets you publish courses for Flash, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player app. To distribute your published content, upload it to your web server or LMS, then link to the story.html file in the published output. Here’s how Storyline determines which version of your content to display when learners view it.
Do you have a .story file that you need us to take a look at? I'm not sure what you mean by the HTML5 checker. You can see a comparison of features here.
Hi Leslie,
I was actually referring to the HTML5 Tracker feature in Captivate that shows you which elements in your project won't work in HTML5.
My assumption was that everything created in Storyline could be used in an HTML5 environment. Can you confirm that's the case?
I tested my slider in Chrome with Flash disabled and it worked fine.
Hi Mark- the feature comparison page Leslie shared above will tell you which features in Storyline 2 are supported in HTML5. You'll see there in the interactive elements section that sliders are supported. :)
Great, thanks Ali and Leslie!
