Hyperlink from with in SL to reference documentation

May 31, 2013

Is there a way to hyperlink from within SL to a reference/resource document? I am working on a project and they want to be able to hyperlink a resource citation so that when the user clicks on the link, within the training, it will open up to the PDF original resource (which I have added to Resources).

Thanks,

Dana

I almost posted what I typed below but I re-read what you posted. Are you saying that you want the PDF to open in the training player itself?

You can insert a hyperlink very easily in SL. Just insert a text box with whatever text you want, then click on Insert>Hyperlink. It will open up a trigger window. Change the Action to "Jump to URL/File." I hope that this works for you!

Hey Dana,

In addition to Jesse's suggestion which should work great for you, if your PDF resource is already online, you could also bring it in as a web object (in addition to having it in your Resources tab).
