My colleague is using Storyline 2 and when she takes a file with a recorded PowerPoint, the sound does not carry over. However, the sound does carry over for me when I do it from the same file. The only thing I know about her computer setup is that she is in Office 13 where as I'm actually in 7.
Also, you'll want to confirm that you're both working with local project files as working off a network drive or USB could be causing issues with the files.

Are you both following the import procedures here? Office 13 is supported as you'll see here in the documentation of the system requirements.
