Inconsistencies when importing translations
May 25, 2015
Hey,
I'm noticing issues when I use Storyline's translation import feature. It appears to corrupt the paragraph spacing, among other things. For instance, I have text with spacing of 3pt before and 3pt after in my course, but when I export and then re-import, the spacing will appear in the exported translation doc asĀ 0.15pt/0pt, and be imported back to Storyline the same. Other corruptions include bullet indents and numbering being changed or bullet text colors changed. This happens even if I export the translation and then reimport it without making any changes to the file at all.
(Incidentally, if I export the translation, change the paragraph spacing in the translation doc from 0.15pt/0pt back to the correct 3pt/3pt and then re-import, I *still* don't get the right spacing in my course. Instead, it changes it to 4.7pt/0pt. Grrrr...).
Is this a known issue and is there anything I can do to fix it? It's a real time-sink having to sweep my courses after importing a translation to fix paragraph spacings and suchlike, especially since there's no global search-replace for that.
Cheers,
James

Hi James!
When you export text for translation, you may find that some text formatting (bold, italics, etc.) isn't saved. This issue was fixed in Update 5 for Articulate Storyline. See this article for more information.
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for your response. Sadly I'm already on Update 5 and the issue persists. Text formatting isn't the issue, it's paragraph formatting. Is there a fix or planned update for that?
I apologize James, I do see that listed as a different issue with our QA Team, but I do not see an update to provide. I will add this thread for them and update here when applicable.
