Incorrect Quiz Score

Jan 16, 2014

The scores on a quiz I created are being miscalculated. This is happening consistently.

For instance, the passing score is set to 85%. I tried missing one item (13/14) and it gave me a 78%. Then I tried missing four items (10/14) and it gave me a 0%.

Does anyone know what is going on here? Is there a fix for this?

Hi Ariel and welcome to Heroes!

You mention it happening consistently, I assume you mean in a few Storyline files? If you're unable to share the .story file here with us so that we could take a look I'd suggest looking into the following elements:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
  • Try importing it into a new Storyline file
  • Conduct a repair of Storyline

Let us know how it's behaving after checking the above, and if you're able to share here we're happy to take a look. If you're unable to post in the forums the actual file, can you mock up an example to share here, or let me know and I can offer you some ways to send it to me privately.

Thank you for your reply, Ashley. I will run through the checklist you provided and see if that solves the issue. If that doesn't work, I will try sending a version of it with alternate, mock content. Thanks again.
