Increasing width of menu

Mar 16, 2017

Hi,

Is there an easy way to increase the current width of the default menu on the left in SL360?

Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric!  It sounds like you're looking to enlarge the Menu of the Player in Storyline 360; is that right?

The Player menu is a fixed size (you can read here about how the Player features' dimensions affect slide size), but you can increase the font of the text in the Player.  Tell us more about why you'd like the menu to be bigger!  Are you finding that it is hard to read?

Thanks a bunch for your input!

Hi, Thanks for your response. We are changing the "notes" label to "CC" to add the audio text. We wanted it a little bigger because there is a lot of text on some slides.

I'm also running into an issue with the current text being cut off on the right.

I published this locally, on a web server and also thru Cloud Scorm with no luck.

Attached are a few screen grabs of the issue.

Hi Eric,

Sorry you've run into such odd behavior - are you able to share a copy of your .story file with us?You’ll want to upload the .story file here (which is the file prior to publishing) using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the forums reply window. If you’d prefer to not share in the public forums you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist!

Ah, thanks for that clarification, Eric.  I see what you're saying with the text being cut off in your notes panel.  Can you let me know a couple to help me investigate?

  • Which SCORM format did you select?
  • Which output combination of Flash and HTML5 did you choose?
  • Which browser are you using to view the content in SCORM Cloud?

I did a quick test on my own file with a text-heavy notes panel, and I was able to see all of my notes text.  I published to SCORM 1.2, HTML5/Flash fallback, and viewed in Chrome.

If you can even share your .story here, we can run it through on our end and see if we can reproduce that cut-off!  Thanks for working through it with us!

Hi Crystal,

I published Scorm 1.2, HTML5 with Flash Fallback and uploaded to cloud scorm.

The browsers used were I.E., Firefox, Edge and Chrome (depending on who viewed the published file, all browsers had the issue).

I am uploading the story file to the Support Engineers link above because I can't make this public.

Thank for your help.

Eric
