Is it possible to import a HTML file into Storyline

Apr 21, 2015

Is it possible to import an HTML file into Storyline? I need to give my course a new look and feel that is in line with the customer's expectations. The content is the same but the formatting is different. I tried opening the HTML file in note pad and saving it as an XML file and importing it into the player. It said the file was not compatible. There is also a manifest.xml file that I tried to import, that did not work either. Is there someway to import a CCS sheet also? One last question, can a progress meter be built into storyline?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. There is a template located within the HTML file that contains GUIs that need to be included. Is there some way to import an HTML file that can used as a template and contains GUIs? I tried copying the HTML code and saving file as index.xml file and tried to import it into the player. It did not work. The message that I received stated "the player you selected is not supported. Any suggestions?

Sorry for misunderstanding your original question Liliana!

You can find information about sharing and using player templates here, but that is not a method that I'm familiar with. The Storyline SDK may be what you are looking for and hopefully someone in the community will be able to further assist.

Please note that the Storyline SDK is not a supported product. If you need help creating custom frames, we recommend posting in our dedicated SDK forum to connect with other developers.

I also wanted to mention that replying to the forums via e-mail attaches your signature, but you are welcome to pop in and edit if needed.
