Is it possible to import a HTML file into Storyline
Apr 21, 2015
Is it possible to import an HTML file into Storyline? I need to give my course a new look and feel that is in line with the customer's expectations. The content is the same but the formatting is different. I tried opening the HTML file in note pad and saving it as an XML file and importing it into the player. It said the file was not compatible. There is also a manifest.xml file that I tried to import, that did not work either. Is there someway to import a CCS sheet also? One last question, can a progress meter be built into storyline?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Liliana!
Web objects are a powerful way to leverage web-based resources by embedding them right in your Articulate Storyline courses. To learn how to use web objects, see this tutorial.
If you are looking for assistance with progress meters, I suggest that you check out this challenge that was held in the community.
Thank you for your response. There is a template located within the HTML file that contains GUIs that need to be included. Is there some way to import an HTML file that can used as a template and contains GUIs? I tried copying the HTML code and saving file as index.xml file and tried to import it into the player. It did not work. The message that I received stated "the player you selected is not supported. Any suggestions?

Sorry for misunderstanding your original question Liliana!
You can find information about sharing and using player templates here, but that is not a method that I'm familiar with. The Storyline SDK may be what you are looking for and hopefully someone in the community will be able to further assist.

Hi Kaleem,
This discussion is quite a bit older, and it looks like Liliana was attempting something not supported by our team.
If you can share more details about what you're looking to accomplish - happy to point you in the right direction!
