Is it possible to make menu with a slider?

Jun 08, 2018

Hi,

I am attaching my file where I am trying to make 2 types of menu. One for a carousel effect using slider where i have turned the thumb into an image. I was intending/hoping that each individual component of the image can be used as a separate menu item but i was wrong.

second option was to use scrolling panel for the menu. same i added the menu picture into it but in vain to link individual components with the slides.

is it possible to do it? the effect looks good.

fingers crossed

The second option you tried (scrolling panel) is easy to do. Just add transparent objects over the menu items. I did that in the attached file and added a variable sot hat you can see which item was clicked.

The first option can be done as well, but would require that each green menu item is its own slider.

When you expand the scrolling panel, you can see  that I left your original picture intact and simply added transparent objects on top of each menu item in the picture. As always in Storyline there is often more than one way to achieve the same result. You could have split up your picture into smaller pieces, and attached the trigger(s) directly to each pic.
