Is it possible to save a storyline story as a playable .pdf?

Aug 19, 2013

Hi

I am using Articulate Storyline to create some e-learning and need to have it checked by a colleague before it's finalised.

My colleague does not have Storyline  installed on her PC and will not need to use it again.  Is it possible to export a Storyline file to a playable .pdf so I can send her a version she can QA without installing any software?
Thank you

I'm not aware of that functionality.

I have Articulate Online, so I always publish the course to AO and send the link to the published course to my reviewers.  It's the easiest option for them because all they have to do is click and link and they'll see the course exactly as your learners would see it.

If you don't have AO, I'd recommend publishing the course locally. You can then zip the published output folder and send it over to your reviewer. They'll have to unzip the folder and double-click the HTML file to open the course, but that's pretty straight forward for them.

Can we please request that publishing courses as a pdf be added as a feature in Storyline? We use these for history on our courses, so it is necessary. Publishing as a Word doc doesn't work well for this because we have to do a lot of manipulation to have it look the way we want for the public.

In addition, we've noticed that many of the text boxes in Power Point change to shapes when we import to Storyline. This is fine when we are working on the file ourselves, but leaves lines when we export to Word to create the pdf. I can convert them to text boxes and remove the outlines to create the Word doc so I can create the pdf, but I am wondering is there is an easier way and if I could request that a feature be added that has objects from the Power Point convert properly.

Thank you!
