Issue with scoring | Review Quiz Default button
Apr 10, 2014
I have been working with storyline to create a simple assessment of 15 questions. I have placed the "Review Quiz" and "Retry Quiz" default buttons on the failure layer and a "Print Results" on the success layer of the result slide.
The problem occurs when I reach on the result slide. Let's say when I select 4 correct answers out of 15, I get 40% score which is exactly I should get. But on clicking the Review Quiz button, two strange things are happening:
1. The individual feedback layer for each question shows an incorrect feedback for every question - no matter if it is correct or incorrect.
2. The score which was 40% when I first submitted the questions is now changed to some other value (Usually less than what it was initially.)
Can anyone help me to figure out what is wrong with the Review quiz button. Every time I click this button, the score changes from the initial value. The correct answer for question 2 which is a fill in the blanks is "Encryption." I have also attached the story file for your reference.

Hi Gaurav and welcome to Heroes!
Thanks for sharing your .story file with us.
If using the Review quiz functionality, you'll want to set the question slides to "resume saved state" within the slide properties as currently you have it set to "reset to initial state" and it's essentially "zeroing" out the answer and score.
Hi Ashley, thank you very much for your reply. This fix resolved the issue.
Happy to hear it Gaurav and thanks for the update!
I have an expanded question on this... My review seems to be working correctly but when I take the quiz, review results, retake the quiz and don't answer one or more questions it shows me the results from the previous try (e.g., I didn't answer at all but shows correct on the review, since I got it correct prior). The results slide percentage is correct though. Any Insight on how to fix this? Thank you!
Hmmm, that's an interesting find Jen. Would you be able to share a .story file for us to take a look? If you cannot share here in the forums, you are welcome to share here privately.
Unfortunately the material is sensitive and I am unable to share at this time, I would have to revamp the Quiz material and try it again and I may do this at a later date but bandwidth is slim right now.
I think that it will work right now with what I need it for and the likeliness that the quiz will be retaken with the taker leaving many questions unanswered is slim :)
Thank you for the quick follow up!
