Issues with hotspots in Articulate Storyline quiz.

I will preface this question with the this statement:

First time posting a question and I am a novice user of Articulate Storyline who is somewhat teaching myself this application with little support. I know some of the basics and have stumbled my way through a few projects that are primarily incomplete and have spent many frustrating hours trying to troubleshoot.  I am signed up to take the Basics and Advanced Articulate training soon.

Until then, here is my current issue.  I created a navigational eLearning that is intended to score the learners on each slide.  They must click on the correct hotspot to get the answer correct.  If they click on any incorrect space other than the hotspot, I would like the incorrect response to appear on the screen telling "this is incorrect" and then advance them to the next slide.  If they click on the correct hotspot, nothing appears and they advance to the next slide.  The correct hotspots are small and I have created multiple incorrect hotspots for the rest of the image, if they click on anything other than the green correct hotspot, it will be incorrect.  When I test it, the scene gives me 5 correct answers out of 39 possible even though I know I'm clicking on the correct hotspot on each slide. Not sure why those 5 slides are correct and the rest are incorrect?  I know this is a general explanation at this point but looking for any support or feedback?
