Issues with Quiz Navigation

Oct 31, 2016

Recently we launched a test on our LMS Platform (Absorb) a request was put in to allow users to "review" their test before submitting it.

To accommodate this request I simply put a previous and next button on every test question except the first and last. When my LMS reports on data from the test it often comes out like the pictures I have attached.

So here is what is happening: Articulate 2 does not pass on the data to the LMS correctly. It records each time a question slide was visited and reports all of the visits back to the LMS. Sometimes the LMS system realizes this and produces the correct grade and sometimes it doesn't leading to a false grade.

Example: We had one test taker have Question 3 marked wrong 5 times, and in turn they lost points as if they got 5 questions wrong.

How do you guys allow users to review the test prior to submission? I simply remove the Submit Answer trigger and replace it with Prev and Next, and put the Submit Answer trigger on the very last slide of the test along with a warning that there is no going back once submitted.

Hi Justin!

By default, question slides in Articulate Storyline have a Submit button, meaning each question will be submitted one at a time for evaluation and feedback will be displayed immediately. If you want all the questions to be submitted at the same time at the end of the quiz, change the navigation controls from Submit buttons to Prev/Next buttons. Here's how.

Are you utilizing the latest update to Storyline 2, which is now Update 11.

We had a previous issue where quiz questions are scored incorrectly when users had configured your quiz to submit answers all at once and viewing HTML5 output, but this was corrected in Update 8.

Are you able to replicate this issue in SCORM Cloud or is this limited to your LMS?
