Links to layers
Oct 24, 2018
I have created five shapes - all named on the timeline - and I am trying to use a mouse rollover for each one to reveal the relevant slide layer for each one. Sounds all pretty straight forward.
However when I create a trigger for shape A and link to layer A, this replicates across the other four shapes meaning that my triggers all show the same thing. For example, if I change the trigger for shape B to link to layer B, that changes trigger A from A (where it was) to now B as the latest trigger I created.
I created five shapes originally using drag and copy and I thought that might be the issue so I subsequently deleted ALL shapes and started again - one by one.
However after creating five separate and individual shapes I am right back where I started from which is that the trigger for ALL shapes picks up the trigger of the last shape I worked on.
Oh and if I delete one trigger, I delete them all - automatically and at the same time.
Any ideas?

Hi there Bill!
This definitely sounds odd, and I'm curious to take a closer look at your slide. Would you be willing to share it with me?
Also, be sure to let me know what version of Storyline you're using. Thanks!
Sure Alyssa. What's the best way to share this with you?
By the way, I switched over to hot spots rather than using shapes with triggers attached. It seems like the same thing is happening with the hotspots as well.
I am sure there is a very simple answer to this and it will be related to my lack of SL360 skill no doubt! :)
