Lip-sync/animation for SL characters

Jan 24, 2014

I've read through all the threads on this forum regarding animating characters and I'm still very confused.  Some of it is my own lack of knowledge and some of it is due to the ever-changing technology.  In a nutshell, I need to be able to animate at least the facial features of an on-screen character in Storyline, including lip syncing with the audio.  I don't need any super fancy 3-D modeling.  I would love to be able to apply this to the existing Storyline characters but I could use an alternate image if needed.  I need this to be integrated into Storyline (i.e., not show up in a separate box or anything, but look like the characters do now against the background, but with some facial movement).  Basically I just want to be able to do what is shown in the thread/screenr Tom posted about Creative’s Live! Cam Avatar Creator--but I don't have a Dell or that software.  I also need it to be usable in all web-based and mobile applications.

Can I do this with CrazyTalk 7?  I've downloaded the trial but I can't figure out what features are limited in the trial version and what don't exist at all.  And if so, will I need any other software in order to manipulate files or anything like that, or can I just take my files straight from CrazyTalk to Storyline?

Thanks in advance for your help!
