Logic Question

Best Practice? Is it necessary to include the IF statement or is it sufficient to assume that If the variable changes, it will recognize the change to new value without specifying the new value? In this case, HomeComplete05 defaults to FALSE until slide visit/completion changes it to TRUE. Do I need the IF condition? Hope that isn't as dumb as it sounds! I'm sure somebody will let me know if it is... <g>
