Looking for a creative way to fix my hotspot interaction

Jul 25, 2017

Hi all! I'm creating a Brady Bunch-themed module to introduce my team of trainers to our new hires when they begin their new hire training. Each square is a video that shows a trainer looking at the "people" in the adjacent squares, like the old Brady Bunch intro used to have. I have a hotspot over each video that links to a layer with that trainer introducing him/herself. Everything works great, but my boss would like to make sure the trainees watch all the videos before exiting the course (I know, I can hear your groans already...key word - BOSS). I've got a trigger set to hide my exit sign when the timeline starts, but I can't figure out how to bring it back. Usually I just set up a state that changes when things are clicked, but I'm not seeing any option to do that for the hotspots and since the squares themselves are tiny videos, they don't have states either. I'm still a novice so variables scare me and HTML or JAVA are a complete mystery so I'm hoping there's a simpler solution.

Any ideas would be welcome!

I added a screen shot so you see what I'm talking about. Oh, and I'm working in Storyline 2.

Thanks in advance!

Michael's solution is probably the one I would use as well.

If for some reason you need to keep the hot-spots then you could set a variable for each video with an initial value of false.

Set them to true when the media/layer ends.

When all the variables are true, reveal the Exit sign.  You would have to check if they are all "true" when each the variable states changes. It's not very elegant but it works.

Note:  I did only 4 of the videos layers and variables in this example.
