Master Slides for Quizzing

Jul 10, 2014

Hi,

I've been customizing the master slides, and I've customized the Question layout which is used by the Storyline Quizzing feature for graded question templates.

What other layouts are used by the Quizzing templates other than the Question layout? Is there a specific master layout that can be customized and used for survey for example?

Is it possible to have more than one layout that can be used as the base for the Storyline Quizzing templates? Ideally I would love to have one layout for practice and one for actual assessments but still be able to use the Quizzing | Graded templates. That doesn't seem like it would be possible though.

I noticed when I rename the Question layout in the master slides, it is no longer inherited as the layout for the Storyline Quizzing templates, so the naming seems to be significant.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi Anna,

The built in Quizzing master is what would be applied to any quiz questions you inserted - but you could always make your own slide masters and then apply them to the quiz slides you add. They won't necessarily default to that based on how you name them. You may want to begin by reviewing the information here on using slide masters - and it's also worth noting that the feedback layers have a set of masters associated with them too.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Ashley. I have gone through those tutorials. I guess I wasn't clear on my question. Do you know the names of the master layouts that feed into the Articulate Quizzing feature? I have figured out that the Question layout is automatically used by the Quizzing - Graded questions. What would be the master layout that would be used for the Quizzing - Survey questions?

Thanks,

Anna

Hi Anna,

The "question layout" would be applied to any question type - regardless of it being a graded or survey question type. There is only the one master built in layer for question type within the slide master layers. You could create your own layers as well and then apply them to the slide once you've set up the question.
