menu problem

Hi all!
Never figured this one out: I have a menu on the left - typical thing - setup via player. Problem is that I can only set it between two extremes: TOTAL LOCK DOWN AND USELESS and FREE TO CLICK ANYWHERE AND SKIP AHEAD IN MY COURSE and miss content.
I need something in between: User CANNOT CLICK FORWARD until they visit page; they CAN CLICK BACK to pages they did view. (I am not talking about the next prev buttons; that's a different problem).
I feel like I've asked about this before. I just can't believe there's not a simple workaround. Lectora let's me do this all day long.
Thanks, Charles

what about leaving it unlocked but having some variable that can bring up a note reading "you must view earlier material." I really don't know. sounds time consuming and janky.
any body out there??
you can set it to restricted
Hi Phil, then user won't be able to go back to see what they saw, no?
trying restricted now. thought i tried it once. could it be that simple?
Yes, fortunately it is
Thanks phil.
Hi CR,
Glad you were able to get the help you needed here, and for some additional information on how the menu navigation works I'd suggest reviewing this tutorial.
That is a great tutorial. I referenced it in this thread as well, which I thought was a duplicate question but it looks like we have two different cr's in the community? http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/44613/240398.aspx#240398
Good catch Brian - I saw them, but wasn't paying attention to the different avatars.
