It's possible you accidentally dragged the slide view screen all the way to the right hand side. Try hovering your mouse all the way on the right side of the screen and see if your cursor changes to a bar with an arrow on each side - then it will let you drag it back.
If the bar is still there but empty, look for the little arrows next to the words Trigger and Layers - click them to open.
