I have presentation that starts with a movie, when this was tested on a desktop environment the movie loads and plays fine, when online the movie does not play on Chrome only in Safari. (I'm using only a direct link to the HTML5 file, and the movie file is MP4, 3.8MB as encoded out of Storyline)
What happens when you reach the video slide in Chrome? Do you see an error, blank page, or?
The first thing you may want to check is your current version of flash, for Chrome. Check out this Adobe page. This page will tell you what version you currently have for Chrome. If you don't have the most recent version, try updating the installation.
I had this problem too - it was caused when Google released a new version of Chrome - as far as I'm aware there is no fix and we just have to wait until Chrome is updated for this to be fixed....
No Error, I can see that the elements created in SL such as navigation items are there, but the movie just dont play no audio no sound. Is like is taking a long time to load and never loads. The movie is a MP4 and it plays on his own in any other browser and device tested.
I'm not using any of the Flash files as there is other issues with Web Objects and the interactive questions under SL. My Chrome version is Version 23.0.1271.64 (up to date)
Any other suggestions?
Hi Ant, the behavior is not normal, sometimes opens in Chrome (Mac or PC) others (most of the time) not. How do you know is caused by the current version of Chrome?
The bug Ant mentioned is in the integrated Flash Player for Google Chrome (i.e., the Pepper plugin), which doesn't support trusted locations. As a result, communication between the Flash Player and your Articulate content is denied when the content is viewed locally, which causes various features in your content to fail.
When you point out directly to the html5 index file is the Flash Player involved at all? I thought not. The content is not viewed locally, is actually in a server the moment. To our surprise when viewed locally html5 or html version both work well, is only when is uploaded and viewed in Chrome that the movie (mp4) embedded in storyline does not work.
Your here link is broken, so I cannot see more information about it.
Sorry about the link, Francisco. It's fixed now. I'd recommend going ahead and opening a ticket so we can take a look at what's going on. Please submit a case, including your .story file, using this link so our support team can assist you further.
I did a bit of research online and found this online resource http://html5test.com if you compare the browsers and their supported features Chrome and Firefox dont support MPG4 neither MP3 or ACC for firefox. So in my case only leaves me with Safari. Because the supported features from the browser and the ability to of SL to only support in these formats for HTML5. No many options neither the ideal solution.
