Multimedia library
Nov 29, 2016
Hi,
I'm actually trying to manage the easiest way to handle multilingual courses.
I got the idea to duplicate the content of one course, in the same course (as on the schema).
The problem is that with 5 language, course's volume will dramatically grow.
So here is my question, is it possible to create some king of media library so I can use only one media for 5 identic slides (as on the schema)
Thank you in advance,
Pierre
PS: Yes, my paint skills are amazing !

Hi Pierre,
There isn't an option for a media library within Storyline, so you'd have to insert the item in again for each new slide. So yes, that will add to your overall file size.
I have seen some users mention that copying and pasting within the same file doesn't increase the file size so perhaps you'll want to look at using that option.
Also you're welcome to share your thoughts on adding this as a feature within Storyline by submitting your thoughts here.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your answer.
I just tried it, indeed file's size didn't grow but when I export it for my LMS it does.
Software create one media for each reference.
I share the thoughts.
Thank you again,
Pierre
Hi Pierre,
The file size when exporting to your LMS will be different than the initial .story file - but I wouldn't expect it to be expanding based solely on the multiple inclusion of images. Do you have a sample of your course or file that you could share here with us so that we could take a look at it as well?
