Need a developer, not sure where to start

Jun 09, 2014

Hey All,

I work in membership education at an educational foundation, and we're hoping to transition our in-person standards of conduct course into a self-led e-learning course. We're planning to look to articulate for our hosting needs, but need to identify someone to develop the course. Here's a little background:

The course is about 45 minutes in length, and is fairly straightforward. As it stands, we have a finalized slideshow, script, and we're writing notes for the developer to use when animating slides and inserting script. The script itself is already recorded into small numbered mp3 files, and have numbered these files in accordance with script. From a developer's end, we want this to be paint by numbers. We've inserted four knowledge checks and a final 20 question assessment, and that's really the most interactive part of the presentation. In terms of reporting, we're just looking for the basics.

Here's what I'm looking to find out:

1) How do I best locate a developer for this course without breaking the bank?

2) About how many hours should a project like this take, provided we have all our materials and a clear roadmap ready for the developer?

3) Am I best served offering a base price for the work, or going by hour?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

-Joe

Hi Joe and welcome to Heroes!

In regards to finding a developer, you may want to also post this request in the Building Better courses forum and/or the FreelanceHeroes thread to get some more responses. If you have moreinformation you'd like to have included in the Community's weekly post one-learning positions, you could also fill out this form to share the information.

I'll defer to our awesome community in regards to hours and pricing on this type of work!

Good luck in your search!
