Need advice for course development

Apr 23, 2013

Hello, I am new to Storyline.  (Love the product)!  I am creating a new course for my organization.  It's basically a "new version" of an older online course we offered our members.  In the old course, the developer used Articulate and broke the course into five separate modules.  My question is this:

Should I do the same thing with Storyline and the new course?  Or, would you suggest making the entire course in one file/module?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

John

Hi, John

  • What are the intended outcomes of the course?
  • How much work is involved in each section?
  • How long -- approximately -- would it take the average bear to complete each section?
  • Do later sections rely on previous ones?
  • Would it be better to do it all in one hit or would a break in between be more beneficial for learning?
  • Will the learners have dedicated time to do it or are the expected to fit it in on top of their regular duties?
  • What kind of environment will learners be in when doing the lesson? How will this impact their concentration?

These are just a few questions off the top of my head. Hope they help to get some idea buzzing for you.

All the best,

Leslie
